(This is from a koto blade in Edo period bukezukuri mounts. The fuchi is shakudo
with an inlaid silver mon, the kashira is horn with silver shitodome, and
the menuki are copper/shakudo with gold kanji. At some point, the tsuka lost
its ito and same', then was spray painted gold. The menuki were held on with
wire, and a screw was put through the mekugi-ana.)
(Here, using the original fuchi/kashira, I cut a new tsuka,
replaced the same', then lacquered it black.)
(To finish, I wrapped it in the menpumaki style using gold silk ito.)
